Planet earth last call?!

The second panel within the Conscious R:evolution platform was held on Friday, July 31 at 12 PM.

The panel discussion “Planet Earth Last Call?!” streamed on EXIT Festival Facebook page once again draw attention to the importance of environmental protection on a global level, which threatens to be completely destroyed by human negligence.

Panel participants are Anna Schoemakers – Executive Director of the most influential and largest international organization for environmental protection and animal protection Greenpeace, the Netherlands, Hans Bruyninckx – Executive Director, European Environment Agency, Sophia Kianni – national strategist and climate activist in the global movement Fridays for Future by Greta Thunberg, founder and CEO of the non-profit global organization Climate Cardinals, a prominent member of the international environmental movements This is Zero Hour and Extinction Rebellion.

Moderator of the panel is Nemanja Milovic, who is the founder and editor of the leading climate change website in Serbia klima101.rs.

Anna Schoemakers

Anna Schoemakers joined the biggest and most influential global non-governmental environmental organization Greenpeace in 2016 as a co-ED in The Netherlands. Schoemakers holds a master’s degree in Political Science. She has a Finish-Dutch background, so when she's not dedicated to Greenpeace you'll find her taking care of her tiny forest in the eastern part of The Netherlands or running around in Amsterdam, where she lives with her family of three kids and a husband.
Hans Bruyninckx

Hans Bruyninckx

Hans Bruyninckx is the Executive Director of the European Environment Agency since 2013. Dr Bruyninckx studied undergraduate and master’s degrees in political science specializing in international relations. He completed a PhD degree on the topic of international environmental politics, subsequently teaching at other universities in the United States and Europe, including Colorado State University, Canisius College and Wageningen University. Until his appointment at the EEA, he was professor of environmental politics and director of the HIVA Research Institute in Belgium. He has conducted and managed policy-oriented research in the areas of environmental politics, climate change, and sustainable development, spanning 20 years.

Sophia Kianni is an 18-year-old American climate and environmental activist and a national strategist for Fridays for Future, an international movement of school students started by Greta Thunberg. She is also the founder and executive director of global non-profit organization Climate Cardinals. Sophia is an international spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion, global environmental movement, as well as a national partnerships coordinator for This is Zero Hour. She is writer specializing in media and strategy.

Nemanja Milović is the founder and editor of the climate change focused website klima101.rs, the leading climate change information website in Serbian, covering all the latest research, policy and new technologies necessary to fight climate change. Previously Milović has worked as a Cleantech Entrepreneurship Development Manager at Startit, working with Serbian cleantech startups, and as a Secretary of Coalition 27, the association of Serbian environmental NGOs. Milović has a background in sales and marketing and his master thesis is titled "Effects of Climate Change on Developing Countries".
